It would depend on your test results, but things like Clomid increase your Testosterone by an amount of your base ability to do so. You won't notice a large change in your range with Clomid alone if you're truly hypogonadal (typically). There are also side effects that come with Clomid as it's a medication & not a hormone.
For someone like you're self we would say you're a good candidate for TRT, and that Testosterone injections will likely make you feel better than Clomid alone will. It would be perfectly fine to discuss that with your provider and see if he's fine with it. Testosterone is a very safe treatment.
